Written from the code, not from intent
Every factual claim in this document was checked against the live database or the function that implements it, not written from what the platform was meant to do. Where the software and the page disagreed, the page was the thing that got changed. Automated checks hold the parts that can rot — the platform fee, the cookie list and the outside services named here are read from the source, so this page cannot quietly go out of date.
1. The short version
OverhaulOS sets three cookies, and all three exist to make the app work for you: one keeps you signed in, one remembers your language, one remembers whether you chose light or dark.
- 1.1There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind on this platform. No analytics product, no pixel, no session recorder, no third-party script at all.
- 1.2That is why you are not being asked to accept anything. There is nothing here to consent to beyond the app doing its job.
2. What we set, and why
The table below is generated from the application's own source, so it cannot describe a cookie we no longer set or miss one we added.
| Cookie | What it is for | How long it lasts | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-…-auth-tokenEssential | Keeps you signed in. It is what proves to the server that a request is yours. | Until you sign out | OverhaulOS (sign-in service) |
oh_seenEssential | Ends your session if the browser is left unattended. | Until you sign out | OverhaulOS |
overhaul_localePreference | Remembers whether you chose English, Portuguese or French. | 1 year | OverhaulOS |
overhaulos-themePreference | Remembers whether you chose the light or the dark screen. | 1 year | OverhaulOS |
3. What we do not do
We do not profile you, we do not build an advertising audience, we do not sell or share anything with a data broker, and we do not use cookies to follow you to other websites.
- 3.1Nothing we set is readable by any other site.
- 3.2The sign-in cookie is marked so that your browser will not send it to anyone else and will only send it over an encrypted connection.
- 3.3No cookie here holds your name, your email address, your role or anything about a job. The sign-in cookie holds a session token and nothing legible.
4. The phone app sets no cookies
The OverhaulOS app that drivers, mechanics and technicians use is not a browser and stores no cookies.
- 4.1Your sign-in session is held in the device's own secure store — the Keystore on Android, the Keychain on iOS — so it is protected by the phone's own encryption rather than sitting in ordinary app storage.
- 4.2It is cleared when you sign out or uninstall the app.
5. Caching: what is kept, and where
Pages you see when signed in are never stored by a cache. Every page we serve carries instructions that no shared cache may keep a copy, so your screens cannot be served to another person, and your language cannot be served to somebody who did not choose it.
- 5.1What is cached is the part of the app with nothing personal in it: the program code, fonts and icons, which your browser keeps so the app opens quickly on a bad connection. Those files are identical for everyone.
- 5.2Your browser's own history and back button are yours, not ours. If you use a shared computer, sign out and the session cookie is destroyed.
6. Turning them off
You can clear or block cookies in your browser's settings at any time.
- 6.1Blocking the language and theme cookies costs you only those two preferences.
- 6.2Blocking the sign-in cookie means you cannot sign in. It is the thing that proves to the server that you are you, and there is no way to keep you signed in without it.
- 6.3We have no cookie banner to dismiss because we set nothing optional.
7. If this ever changes
If we add a cookie, this page and the table on it change in the same release that adds it, and a build check fails if they do not.
- 7.1If we ever added something optional, you would be asked before it was set, not told afterwards.
- 7.2Questions about anything here go to your OverhaulOS branch, or to the address on our support page.
